Mobile Software Engineers
Exciting opportunities have arisen for Mobile Software Engineers to join our successful and expanding Mobile, Automotive and OEM team at RealVNC.
RealVNC is a highly successful software company based in Cambridge (UK) city center. As the original developers of VNC remote-access technology our software is used by hundreds of millions of users worldwide. It is now being adopted as a new standard in exciting and innovative embedded applications within the mobile to automotive connectivity and consumer electronics sectors. Our rapidly growing OEM customer base is truly global and includes the world’s largest automotive manufacturers and Japanese consumer electronics companies.
We have immediate, significant expansion plans and are looking for talented Mobile Software Engineers to join our team.
You will be working on the architecture and creation of connected mobile device software for innovative new product areas. A team player, you will be flexible, highly self-motivated, possess excellent programming and creative problem solving skills and will enjoy considerable responsibility. The work is interesting and challenging, and you will make a full and significant contribution.
Your skills and experience should include
- Demonstrable experience of designing and developing networked software for Mobile Platforms, with further knowledge of developing for desktop platforms desirable
- Experience of any of the following is highly desirable: Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Windows CE, Symbian, Qt and Mobile Linux
- An excellent understanding of mobile device architecture, mobile operating system internals and mobile network technologies
- Experience in creating development toolkits and pluggable components is desirable
- Strong C++ development skills are a must, Java is highly desirable
- Understanding of network programming, protocol design, user interface design, compression, security and multithreaded programming
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and a focus on delivering results
- A computer science degree or similar relevant qualification to at least 2.1 level
- Foreign language skills in one or more of French, German, Italian or Japanese would be highly beneficial but not essential
